...(e) potei parlare (2026)
for violin and piano (5'00'')
The dynamics of daily life and current events often render us passive spectators, inclined toward silent acceptance.
Over time, however, a growing critical awareness develops: a form of dissent against our surroundings and that with
which we disagree. This feeling gradually builds until, through personal determination and decision, it translates
into the choice to speak out and take a definitive stance.
The piece ...(e) potei parlare (...I was able to speak) serves as a reflection on this process of emancipation and
the formal expression of dissent. The composition's full title, Tutt’a un tratto m’accorsi che potei parlare
(All of a sudden I realized I was able to speak), emphasizes the value of speaking out: the expression of thought
is not merely an ever-accessible possibility, but a legitimate and fundamental act of self-assertion.
Structurally, the composition traces the evolution of this awakening of consciousness. The work opens with sparse,
measured sound elements that gradually expand, mirroring the consolidation of formal conviction. The sonorities
progressively gain clarity and definition, culminating in a moment of peak expressive tension: the cantabile
line of the violin is punctuated by the rigorous chromatic clusters of the piano, sealing the completion of
this journey toward emancipation.
